Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Industrial Welder with 2 to 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, ARC and other suitable welding operations on industrial components, structures, frames, plates, pipes and fabricated assemblies.
- Execute welding and fabrication work according to engineering drawings, dimensions, weld symbols, specifications and approved procedures.
- Inspect welded joints visually and conduct basic quality checks to identify cracks, porosity, undercut, distortion and other welding defects.
- Prepare, align, fit-up and tack-weld components while maintaining required dimensions, tolerances and structural accuracy.
- Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators, technicians and engineers to complete fabrication activities within project schedules.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, proper welding practices, PPE requirements and housekeeping standards throughout fabrication operations.
Job Requirements
- 2–7 years of hands-on experience as an Industrial Welder, Fabrication Welder or equivalent position in an engineering or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of welding principles, fabrication methods, welding consumables and safe handling of welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, dimensions and basic technical specifications.
- Practical experience in welding carbon steel, stainless steel, MS plates, pipes, structural sections and other industrial materials.
- Ability to identify common welding defects and perform corrective welding or finishing work as required.
- Candidates with exposure to oil and gas equipment, heavy engineering, pressure-related fabrication or industrial machinery will be preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in MIG/MAG, ARC and TIG welding processes with the ability to select the appropriate process according to material and application.
- Good understanding of welding current, voltage, electrode selection, gas flow, welding position and heat control.
- Ability to maintain weld quality, dimensional accuracy and proper joint preparation during repetitive fabrication work.
- Familiarity with grinding, cutting, edge preparation, fit-up and post-welding finishing activities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify fabrication and welding issues before final inspection.
- Good communication, teamwork, discipline and ability to work effectively in a production-oriented environment.
Education & Certification
- ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical trade is preferred.
- Relevant welding certification or trade qualification will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with practical industrial welding experience may be considered based on skill level and previous work exposure.
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and industrial workshop practices is preferred.
- Experience with qualified welding procedures and inspection requirements will be an advantage.
- Candidates should be physically fit to perform industrial welding and fabrication activities safely.
